Research My Past always respects a clients right to privacy. No information will EVER be used for any purpose other than investigative research.


All information is considered confidential, and is not discussed either in a written format or orally with any third party or businesses, unless it is pertinent to your investigation. In this case prior permission from the client will ALWAYS be obtained. All records are private and will be treated as such.  

Records are not kept for any longer than necessary. You may request us to keep your details on record for further research at a later date.  Any information we hold will not be used for any other purpose and will be deleted on request. This applies to records kept manually, or via computer equipment.  Manual documents no longer required will be cross-shredded, and computer files deleted completely.

Once the project has been completed and full payment received,  we will forward the project documentation to you and destroy any written notes.

We are  registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) as a data controller under the Data Protection Act 1998  take into consideration the privacy of any living individuals, in order that the information released to you complies with the Data Protection Act.
